From an old-time collection of fine British and Commonwealth coins, Lincoln Gold & Coin is pleased to offer this rare Straits Settlements Proof Silver Dollar bearing the portrait of King George V. This 1920 dated coin
was re-struck in British India on demand for wealthy collectors in the early 20th century and comes with the original HM's British India mint envelope.
Please note, this is not one of the typically encountered later restrikes which often were lacquered or exhibit excessive hairlines from excessive polishing at the Bombay Mint.
This is a superb  sharply struck mirror proof coin and  represents an exceptional opportunity for the advanced collector. This coin has been in bank storage for decades and is now being offered for the first time. We might also add that all coins from this collection have been well received by collectors and dealers around the world.
We try to upload pictures that most accurately depict the true color and condition of the item. This coin was photographed  under a variety of lighting sources in an effort to depict how attractive this proof coin really is. This coin was purchased from Spink & Son - London over 40 years ago  and is just one of many exceptional British India proof restrikes available in our inventory. The addition of the original HM's Mint envelope adds substantial value. Note, the envelope shows paper separation from long-term storage.
