85/15 Merino/Silk Crimson Tweed GREVILLEA Spinning Fiber, Australian Roving

Like a good many creative folk, I tend to go a little overboard in gathering my toys around me! As a person devoted to crafting, the last of my acquired hobbies was spinning - goes so well into knitting, one of my earliest avocations! Intent on having what I needed for all the projects I envisioned, I went overboard on purchasing hand-dyed fiber for spinning.
Louet has offered Gaywool Merino and Silk tweedy blends from some years, now.  Yes, it's a commercial blend, but the colors are vibrant and the 'hand' is some of the softest I've spun!  I just love a little Silk combined with just about any wool - this an 85/15 Merino to Silk blend, named
Grevillea.
Maybe that's an Australian landmark or flower - I am not familiar with the reference. But this is one of the most beautiful shades of 'blue-based' red, carded with strands of black and white, to create a tweedy yarn, when spun. The weight of this roving in this auction is 250 grams or 8 3/4 ounces.
It’s time for me to downsize my smoke-free, cat-friendly home craft studio collection to something I might have a chance to finish in one or two lifetimes! I’m hoping to find eBaying fiber enthusiasts out there, ready to sit down with their spinning wheels to 'spin a fine yarn' for an anticipated project, simultaneously keeping hands busy in these difficult times.  What a blessing to be able to turn our unexpectedly idle hours into productive ones!
