Aftermarket IMPROVED Nelson SR100 Big Gun Arm Rebuild Kit
IMPORTANT:  The ceramic counterweight bearing must be installed with a press, never use a hammer.
Let's face it, almost all of the arm bearing failures on the SR100 are from bearings rusting out.  After that it's all downhill.  I developed a new non-metallic rebuild kit that will guarantee years of trouble free service.  The best part is that the bearings are made to not really need any grease and operate in water, so even if the seals fail in time and the grease evacuates, it'll still operate.
I myself have been installing these kits I developed for 3 years with no issues whatsoever.
Follow standard rebuild procedures outlined in instructions.  The only variations are that the bushings will be cleaned and reused, and the ceramic counterweight bearing must not be installed with a hammer, only a press will do.
I'm repeating myself because it's important.  Never hammer in the ceramic counterweight bearing.  When it's pressed in, only press on the outer race, never the ball bearings or inner race.  The ceramic is very strong, but brittle.  I cannot accept returns because of a broken ceramic bearing.  I've installed many of them with a press with zero breaks.
The arm bearings are a Polypropylene bearing, not really needing grease but it helps with installation.  You do NOT need to hammer on them, just a film of grease on the outer face and they'll slide right in.
Make certain you only use the synthetic silicone grease that's provided.  Standard grease will not work.
The Oil Seals have been specially manufactured to be fully encased to eliminate rust.  They also have a stainless steel garter spring to keep any dirt out of the bearing area.  Be certain to install the seals DRY, use brake cleaner or something similar to make sure no oily residue.  Otherwise they may try to move around a bit.
